What does «Genesis» smell like?
Once again, the colección olorVISUAL moves out of our storage to be part of exhibition projects across the territory. On this occasion, the Foundation has loaned the artwork titled “Libro Chino” by María Aranguren to be part of the exhibition “Génesis. María Aranguren,” produced by the Fundación Bancaja.
Curated by Gertrud Gómez, this exhibition brings together around fifty works by María Aranguren, aiming to review her artistic career with a special emphasis on her creative process, which is based on experimentation and play. Composition, color, abstraction, and figuration take center stage through the various techniques and experimental materials used by the artist, such as cloth-covered panels, cardboard, or polycarbonate, a fundamental material in the artist’s work, used in the execution of the piece from the colección olorVISUAL.
“Libro Chino” is presented in the space with the olfactory note that Ernesto Ventós designed for the work: “Polvorosa”, a scent composed of talcum powder, chalk, cotton flower, vanilla, oriental, and wind. With actions like this, the Ernesto Ventós Foundation gives visibility to its collections and disseminates Ernesto Ventós’ unique way of understanding art.
The exhibition can be visited from June 27, 2024, to October 27, 2024, at the Fundación Bancaja headquarters, located at Plaza Tetuán no. 23 in the city of Valencia.
