This is our first olfactory project for you to discover that, just as #myhousesmells, yours does too!
We start by smelling the citrus fruits we happen to have in the kitchen: oranges, perhaps, or tangerines, lemons, limes or grapefruits … take a good look at this video to find out how you can experiment with the fruit you have at home.
And now we’re ready for the creative project! We’re going to make a natural air freshener for the house
1. Carefully peel the citrus fruit you have at hand: only the part of the skin that has colour, not the white part (the pith).
2. Now boil the peel in a little water in a small saucepan, for a maximum of 5 minutes, to give you a natural air freshener with the essential oils that were present in the peel.
3. If you like, you can combine the peel of different fruits – for example, lemon and tangerine.
Follow these easy steps to scent any room in the house with a delightful natural aroma – and you can put your new air freshener in a pot or jar and decorate it just as you like, with paint, wool, string, leaves, ribbons…
We would love you to share your creations and experiences online, with the hashtag#micasahuele. We can’t wait to see what you’ve done!
