Smell given off by the alder wood when it’s carved
smell of the white acrylic
smell of the roll of wire
and the wax to keep it from rusting
The sensation of a lake that goes beyond a surface
Does it smell or does it sting? in any case the pain produces a sensation
in the nose
When I made this sculpture I was thinking of lines of graphite in space.
And of how a bird builds its nest, with very fine reeds, weaving a
place that offers it shelter.
Everything is impregnated with the smell of whoever inhabits it.
Possibly the sculpture too of who makes it and then of who
Enjoys it with their gaze.
Might the gaze be the bearer of a perfume?
