The Suñol Foundation presents until May 20, 2023, a monographic exhibition dedicated to Zush, an artist from the Suñol Soler Collection, in collaboration with the Museu d’Art Contemporani d’Eivissa.
Zush in Ibiza showcases the period in which Zush lived on the island of Ibiza between 1968 and 1983, becoming a moment of high creativity for the artist, who experimented with various formats and techniques, such as fluorescent painting illuminated by black light. This exuberant diversity of artistic proposals will be reflected in an exhibition that will show a selection of works, mainly from the Suñol Soler Collection, which will be exhibited at the Suñol Foundation’s headquarters in Les Corts, a space formerly baptized as Gallery 2, where in 1984, Zush began a two-year artistic residency.
In the context of that exhibition, only on May 11th, and always eager to contribute our particular touch, from the Fundación Ernesto Ventós, we invite you to discover the dialogue we have established between the works of our colección olorVISUAL and the works of the Zush in Ibiza exhibition. Being faithful to our mission to value the need to learn to smell, we have built, together with the Suñol Foundation, an olfactory itinerary around this exhibition, Zush in Ibiza, which Enrique Juncosa, Elena Ruiz (from the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ibiza), and Xavier de Luca have curated with such care.
(Our collection is built around the sense of smell as the main pillar of its architecture, selected by Ernesto, our founder, who declared in his day, “My collection describes the smells that surround me.”)
